Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.

Please read the following carefully before signing up for the event. Thank you!😊

Welcome to FHIS Chess Club!

I am extremely humbled and honored to have been allowed this opportunity to host our first official Chess Club! Chess is one of my passions and it will be my absolute pleasure to guide your children in acquiring basic skills in this amazing strategic game!

Children between 7-18 years old will have the opportunity to learn, practice, and improve their Chess skills every last Thursday of the month. We will keep the members’ number to 12-14, in order to maintain a positive group dynamics.

Although this is not a drop-off event, parents do not have to be in the same room with the kids who are attending the club. Because silence is mandatory during our Chess Club meetings, you can supervise your little ones in the club’s cafeteria/gym where they have the freedom to play and make moderate noise.

We are trying to obtain more Chess boards for our club, but for the first few meetings I will ask that you bring your own board to share with others.

As of now, we have one classic tournament Chess board that I will be using for demonstrations during instruction times.

When you sign up for the event, just put the number of children attending the club and do not put yourself or their younger siblings. This will give me an idea on the exact number of Chess players and plan accordingly.

Boys and Girls Club has graciously opened their facility to our club, but they have asked us not to park in the first four parking spaces next to the building, for they belong to their staff. Also, while it is understandable for toddlers and babies to make some noise, please, be mindful of screaming or crying that would distract from Chess Club participation. In the same time, we have to be  especially quiet upon coming/leaving the Chess Club meeting room and walking through the halls. We do not want to disturb other activities that take place in the building.

Thank you for helping Frisco HIS Chess Club maintain a positive reputation and a good relationship with Boys and Girls Club of Collin County!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 214-850-1158.

I look forward to seeing you,

Fabi Suceveanu
