The adventure begins at the top of the rainforest exhibit, where exotic birds, such as Cocks-of- the -rock and many species of toucans can be seen, Lounging around are two and three-toed sloths. Endangered animals, such as Orinoco crocodiles, giant river otters , Antillean manatees and several species of monkeys are part of the conservation projects. The aquarium portion displays interesting marine life including: Japanese crabs, jellyfish, and seadragons. Black-footed and blue penguins can be seen swimming as guests enjoy the outdoor South Africa exhibit. Sharks, rays and sawfish are only a few of the fish living in the Mundo Maya cenote. Safe from Neotropical eagles are euphonias, tanagers and hummingbirds. Reptiles and amphibians , both significant to the Maya culture, can be seen throughout the exhibit.
For the safety of the animals, no food, backpacks, coolers or containers are permitted in the facility.

Hi Aquarium Goers,
Just a few details for the Tuesday, November 7th field trip.
Please arrive no later than 1:45!!! This is very important because if you arrive after 2:00, you will have to pay full price to enter. I cannot change that or make exceptions as it is a DWA rule, nor can we give refunds if you miss as your tickets have already been paid to the DWA. Please be sure to leave enough time for traffic, to find parking and find me at the entrance described below so you may gain admittance. At 2:01, I will be inside the aquarium.
Enter the aquarium off of North Griffin St. Although the DWA does not own parking areas, parking is available at surrounding parking lots, varying in price from $5.00-$10.00. City-operated parking meters are also available.
Once there, please look for me next to the white board that says “Education Department”. At that time, I will give you a sticker and you will be free to enter and explore.
If you have any questions, you may text me at 214-277-9942. Thanks! See you Tuesday!
